HENRI LLOYD THE CONSORT by OLMES CARRETTI
Timeless Evergreen Jacket
For the A/W 2012-2013 collection Henri Lloyd proposes a new interpretation of the iconic CONSORT Original jacket, with the invaluable collaboration of Olmes Carretti.
Designed in 1965 and worn by Sir Francis Chichester during his epic solo sailing circumnavigation of the world, the CONSORT made history and soon became an iconic symbol of life in the open air, partly thanks to its revamp by Olmes Carretti. The Italian stylist’s name is linked to the sensational success of products adopted by the über-cool Milanese youth movement known as the Paninari, including the CONSORT Original sailing jacket.
The phenomenon soon took Europe by storm, propelling Henri Lloyd garments and technical accessories into the fashion world.
The CONSORT is made of Brit Nylon, a fabric produced exclusively by market leader Majotech. Though designed to reproduce the shine and typical sound of the original fabric, it is crafted to offer maximum comfort with a nod to fashion.
As the jacket’s classic cut has withstood the test of time, Henri Lloyd is presenting it in a wide range of colours, while faithfully preserving the product’s signature style and craftsmanship of each single detail.
The iconic CONSORT jacket and an enduring figure such as Olmes Carretti combine experience and style – a perfect match for a product destined for success.
